Sevilla: Iheanacho and Ejuke’s club to offer Nigerian talent trial after 100k retweets

Nigerian athlete Olagreat is set to secure a trial with Spanish La Liga giants Sevilla after his tweet requesting a tryout went viral, Soccernet.ng reports.

The footballer reached out to Sevilla FC’s English official page on X (formerly Twitter), asking for a trial. In response, the club set a challenge for him to gather 100,000 retweets to be considered.

Olagreat’s tweet quickly gained traction, surpassing the target and setting him up for what could be a life-changing opportunity.

The tweet, posted under the handle “therealolagreat,” read: “@SevillaFC_ENG How many reposts for a tryout with your team?”

In response, Sevilla FC replied, “100k.” Olagreat’s post has since garnered over 120,000 retweets, 51,000 likes, and 8.6 million impressions at the time of this report.

Olagreat previously showcased his talent playing for Superstar FC in Lagos Liga in 2024 and FUTA Tigers in the Nigerian University League Games. His bold request and viral success have now earned him widespread attention and a shot at turning his dreams into reality.

Soccernet.ng reached out to a contact at Sevilla for confirmation of the trial, but no official response has been received yet. Nonetheless, the player’s social media achievement has placed him in the spotlight, and the backing from Sevilla’s social media team suggests the opportunity is genuine.

If successful in his trial, Olagreat could join the ranks of Nigerian stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke at Sevilla. Known for their seven-time Europa League triumphs, the Spanish side could offer the young talent a platform to elevate his career.

The 2024-25 season could mark the beginning of a remarkable chapter for Olagreat as he edges closer to fulfilling his football dreams with one of La Liga’s most prestigious clubs.
