Samuel Chukwueze: La Liga club plotting transfer for AC Milan hero

AC Milan star Samuel Chukwueze could seal a return to La Liga as Sevilla are interested in acquiring his services this January, Soccernet.ng reports.

Speculations around Chukwueze’s future have continued to grow in recent months due to his tough start to life at AC Milan.

When the Super Eagles star joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2023, he was expected to do big things, as he had already proved his quality in La Liga with 31 goals and 37 appearances in 207 appearances.

However, the 25-year-old winger has had a tough start to life, as he has only managed seven goals and four assists in 56 appearances.

Recently, talks have been linking Chukwueze with a January transfer to Arsenal Bologna, Real Betis, and even Saudi Arabia. But nothing concrete has emerged from those speculations, especially as he has spent the entire month recovering from a hamstring injury.

Now, in a new development, according to Fichajes, Sevilla is monitoring the Nigerian’s situation and could swoop in for him.

Los Nervionenses have been stocking up on Nigerian players in the past year. After signing Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho last summer, they just concluded a deal for Akor Adams.

Sevilla do not have the funds to sign Chukwueze permanently, so they would offer to take him on loan until the end of the season.

However, AC Milan may decide to keep the Super Eagles star. This is as he scored the winner for them in their hard-fought 3-2 win over Parma on Sunday.

Chukwueze got off the bench and proved to be the game-changer for the Rossoneri. His heroics will surely put him in Sergio Conceicao’s good books, which will increase his game time significantly in the coming weeks.

For Chukwueze, joining Sevilla will be a step-down, so he will look to stay in Milan or even get a bigger club.
