Fenerbahce tempt Super Eagles star with fresh contract amid Premier League links

The Super Eagles star has been linked with a Premier League move, but he could just opt to stay in Turkey if he gets a big deal

Former Turkish Super Lig champions Fenerbahce have offered Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel a three-year contract extension despite talks linking him with a move to the Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osayi-Samuel has been an important player for Fenerbahce since his €508,000 transfer from Championship club QPR in 2021.

The Nigeria international joined the Turkish giants as a lad who had very little experience playing top-level football, but he has grown massively in the last three years.

Osayi-Samuel has registered 151 appearances for Fenerbahce, but he drawing closer to the end of his time at the club. His contract ends at the end of the current campaign, but he is yet to agree to a renewal.

The Nigerian defender has been linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Fulham touted as a potential destination.

However, Fenerbahce want to keep Osayi-Samuel at the club a bit more. According to Transfermarkt, the club have tabled a new three-year extension to Osayi-Samuel. This comes after they completed negotiations with Irfan Can Kahveci for a new deal.

Osayi-Samuel currently earns €600,000, but he’ll be looking for at least a 150% wage increase before he agrees to a new deal.

Nonetheless, if Fulham make a conscious effort to sign him, Osayi-Samuel might just decide to leave for the Premier League.
