Super Eagles defender Osayi-Samuel has been confirmed to be fully fit ahead of Fenerbahce’s Turkish Super Lig clash against Bodrumspor, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osayi-Samuel has been quite important for Fenerbahce since Portuguese tactician Mourinho took over as coach.
The Super Eagles star was in action during the club’s game against English giants Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday. But unfortunately for him, he had to be taken off in the 60th minute after seemingly sustaining an injury.
After the game, the Nigerian defender was seen limping, causing doubts about his availability for Fenerbahce for their next run of games.
He was due to undergo tests on Friday to ascertain the extent of his injury. However, it has been confirmed that he did not sustain any major injury.
According to Fenerbahce Football, Osayi-Samuel only sustained a knock and will be available for the game against Bodrumspor in their Super Lig on Sunday.
Nonetheless, Osayi-Samuel may not start as Fenerbahce would want to handle his case with care to avoid a serious injury.
Fenerbahce currently sit fourth in the Super Lig and need to defeat Bodrumspor to keep up with league leaders and reigning champions Galatasaray. Osayi-Samuel would look to return to action as soon as possible.
