Report: Turkish giants negotiates four-month loan for Osimhen amid Napoli rift

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been exiled from Antonio Conte’s first-team squad sparking an imminent move for the Nigerian

Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly in talks with Napoli to secure Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a four-month loan, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen, who found himself at the centre of a major transfer saga during the 2024 summer window, saw his anticipated move away from the Diego Maradona Stadium fall through.

The unresolved tension from this failed transfer has led to the Neapolitan club sidelining the Super Eagles star from their first-team squad.

In an effort to keep Osimhen match-fit and active, Galatasaray has initiated negotiations for a short-term loan deal that could potentially be extended for a full season.

This temporary arrangement is driven by Osimhen’s desire to secure regular playing time, especially as interest from two Premier League clubs persists for a possible transfer in January.

Despite a prior salary dispute with Chelsea that scuttled a summer transfer, the London club remains in the mix, actively negotiating to secure Osimhen’s services in January.

Personal terms between the player and Chelsea have been agreed upon, with both parties eager to finalize the deal per reports from Nigerian broadcast journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, known as Buchi Laba.

Further reports reveals that Chelsea has intensified their efforts to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge, clearly conveying their intentions to Napoli. There is urgency on both sides to wrap up negotiations swiftly, potentially before Osimhen departs for international duty with Nigeria.

Buchi Laba further noted that one Premier League club reportedly sought a signed agreement ensuring Osimhen’s availability in January, but this request was declined. For now, Osimhen is focused on playing, respecting the current interested clubs, and maintaining his form during this uncertain period in his career.

The discussions between Napoli and Galatasaray have been ongoing since Saturday, and more details are expected to emerge soon as Osimhen looks to navigate this challenging chapter in his professional journey.
