Fully fit Victor Osimhen lands Super Eagles camp, ready to play 2025 AFCON qualifiers

Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to tackle Benin Republic and Rwanda this September for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

New Galatasaray signing Victor Osimhen has rejoined the Super Eagles camp ahead of their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian national team, now under the interim leadership of Augustine Eguavoen, will kick off their qualifiers with a match against the Cheetahs in Uyo before heading to Kigali to face Rwanda just three days later.

According to Nigerian journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, the Super Eagles attacker has arrived in camp fully fit and ready to make an impact for the Nigerian Eagles.

His return to camp comes after finalising a season-long loan move from Napoli to Galatasaray, following a protracted transfer saga between the striker, his club and his agent.

Sevilla forward Kelechi Iheanacho and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye have also joined the squad, bringing the total number of players in camp to 22.

Onokala, also known as Buchi Laba, confirmed that Osimhen arrived just hours ago and is in top condition for Nigeria’s crucial qualifying fixtures.

His presence is expected to significantly strengthen the team’s attack as they aim to secure a spot in the continental tournament.

Although it is yet unknown if the Super Eagles attacker will be able to play for Eguavoen-led side on Saturday, but his presence is boost for the team.
