Ejuke and Iheanacho could make full La Liga debuts after Sevilla suffer setbacks

Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke could make their full La Liga debuts for Sevilla, following injuries to some of the club’s first-team players, Soccernet.ng reports.

Iheanacho and Ejuke both joined Sevilla in free transfers this summer. Ejuke joined first, and got a lot of playing time during pre-season. He also impressed, proving to be a livewire from the left side of Sevilla’s attack. Iheanacho, on the other hand, joined late and played one pre-season fixture.

However, both players have spent more time on the bench in Los Nervionenses first two games of the campaign.

In Sevilla’s season opener against Las Palmas, Ejuke did not play, while Iheanacho did not make the matchday squad as he was not registered on time.

Then, in the second game against Villarreal last Friday, the two Super Eagles stars were introduced into the game in the second half.

Nonetheless, both players could get their first starts of the season when Sevilla lock horns with Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Tuesday.

This is as Zona Mixta reports that Sevilla’s left winger Lucas Ocampos and their center-forward Isaac Romero, have suffered knocks and did not participate in intense training with the team on Sunday.

Hence, there are doubts that Romero and Ocampos will be fully fit to play for Sevilla on Tuesday.

It would be a golden opportunity for Ejuke and Iheanacho to prove their mettle to coach Garcia Pimienta. If they perform, they would have a decent shot at retaining their positions in Sevilla’s starting XI.
