Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has shared a picture of himself wearing Theo Hernandez’s France jersey, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 2024 European Championships has reached the knockout rounds after two weeks of competitive football.
Countries like Spain and hosts Germany have impressed with their displays from the group stage and round of 16, but they are still not overwhelming favourites because other countries like Portugal and France, who are powerhouses, will be looking to snatch the trophy.
Over the weekend, France defeated Belgium to enter the quarterfinal of the competition after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Belgium at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Duesseldorf.
They will take on Portugal, who defeated Slovenia on penalties in the last round. The game is expected to be a tough one because of the array of stars that both sides possess.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze appears to have pitched his tent with France to win the Euros. In a social media post on Tuesday, the AC Milan star shared a picture of himself donning Theo Hernandez’s France shirt, with the caption “Mi hermano”, which means “My man in English.
Hernandez is not the only player that Chukwueze knows in the French team. He also know Mike Maignan and Olivier Guroud, as they played together last season.
However, Rafael Leao is also on the Portugal team, and he is one player who could produce magic.
Chukwueze is still enjoying his holidays, but he should be back in Milan for pre-season, which begins in two weeks.
