Super Eagles goalkeeper has completed a free transfer to Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC following the expiration of his contract at Israeli side Happoel Jerusalem, Soccernet.ng reports.
Adeleye began his professional career in Israel, starting from the youth teams of Hapoel Jerusalem. The 24-year-old shot-stopper joined the club in 2019, and he has spent the last four seasons there.
Adeleye was the first-choice goalkeeper at the club three seasons ago, but his game time has reduced recently. Last season, the Nigeria international conceded 21 goals in 17 appearances, and registered two clean sheets.
Adeleye was benched for most games in the second half of the season and did not get enough game time.
The 24-year-old’s contract at Hapoel Jerusalem expired at the end of last season, making him a free agent this summer.
The Super Eagles star shared a goodbye message to Hapoel Jerusalem on Tuesday, thanking them for his time there. And according to NigeriaFootball360, the Nigerian shot-stopper has joined Cypriot second-tier side Enosis Neon Paralimniou.
Adeleye will play in the Cypriot top flight next season, as Paralimniou gained promotion last season. He joins Francis Uzoho in Cyprus, who is in the books of former champions Omonia Nicosia.
Adeleye made his Super Eagles debut in June 2023, and that is his only cap for Nigeria.
