The Lagos-born striker is famous for his goal-scoring ability, but how many has he scored for the Super Eagles?
Victor Osimhen is an household name in African football thanks to his incredible asset which is scoring goals.
The reigning African Player of the Year is third on the list of Nigeria’s all-time leading goal scorers, just behind all-time great Rasheed Yekini and Segun Odegbami.
Osimhen came into limelight having inspired Nigeria U17 to the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup. He scored 10 goals in seven games and won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards.
For the Super Eagles, he made his debut on June 10, 2017 against South Africa. However, he opened his senior account in an international friendly Ukraine on September 10, 2019 in Dnipro.
His next three goals came against Benin Republic and Lesotho in November 2019 and since then, the former Lille man has not looked back, scoring freely for Nigeria and is on course to breaking the Super Eagles’ long-standing record.

Osimhen is a real pro. Of-course, super eagles are missing him now. He may not give you the goals but he can never fail in the build-up. Finidi George is not a bad choice but his only fault is that he does not have a game plan and pattern. A whole victor boniface was benched for a whole 90minutes. Imagine that decision. South africa has been a strong opponent for nigeria and the super eagles. They should be careful because they are not in an easy group.
