Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina reveals what he likes about Super Eagles boss Peseiro

The Portuguese tactician has met one of his primary targets after leading Nigeria to the semifinals of the continental championship

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has revealed what he enjoys about the management style of Super Eagles head coach, Soccernet.ng reports.

Peseiro took over the affairs of the Nigerian national team in May, 2022, few weeks after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Portuguese tactician led the Super Eagles to their biggest victory since the turn of the millennium – a 10-0 win over São Tomé e Príncipe.

The former Porto boss also had little trouble getting Nigeria to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite injuries to key players before the start of the tournament, Peseiro engineered Nigeria’s progress to the semifinals of the AFCON, where they will meet with South Africa.

Aina is pleased with the ex-Sporting CP manager and the coaching style he has employed with Nigeria’s star-studded squad.

“Jose is a good coach,” Aina said at the pre-match press conference ahead of Nigeria’s clash with the Bafana Bafana.

“He is hard on us when he supposed to be hard and lenient when he is to be and I think that’s a correct balance for us players to progress and do things in the right way.”

Aina has been Nigeria’s first-choice right wing-back at the AFCON, preferred to Fenerbahce fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel.
