EPL: Former Tottenham Hotspur manager replaces Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest announced the departure of the manager who brought the club back to top-flight football in 2022 yesterday evening after two years in charge.

Nottingham Forest are set to announce former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Nuno Espirito Santo as their new coach after they parted ways with Steve Cooper, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Reds announced yesterday evening that Steve Cooper would no longer continue at the club after he managed them for fifty-five English Premier League games after securing promotion for them in 2022.

Cooper’s Nottingham Forest safety in the top flight last term was confirmed with two games left till the end of the season, and seventeen games into the current season, the club has found itself in familiar waters, culling fourteen points so far.

Forest are currently in 17th position on the Premier League table, five points above the relegation spot, with Luton Town in 18th position, and have secured just one win from their last thirteen games.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Midlands club have reached an agreement with former Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur boss, Nuno Espirito Santo to take over with immediate effect, with an official statement from the club expected later today.

The Portuguese manager will be in charge of the club until June 2026. During his stint at Wolves, Nuno won 96 games as a manager, averaging 1.68 points per game.

Nottingham Forest will face Bournemouth at the City Ground on Saturday, and the former Porto manager will be hungry to start his reign as a Forest manager on the front foot.
