Cape Verde 1-2 Nigeria: Ajibade and Okoronkwo soar as Super Falcons claim Morocco 2024 Nations Cup ticket- Player ratings

The Super Falcons already did half of the job in Abuja, and they finished it in Cape Verde

Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo were on the scoresheet for Nigeria’s Super Falcons as they claimed a 2-1 victory over Cape Verde at the Estadio Nacional De Cabo Verde, Soccernet.ng.

The Super Falcons thrashed Cape Verde 5-0 last week in Abuja to ensure the second leg was a mere formality. The 2-1 win in Cape Verde just stamped Nigeria’s spot in Morocco next year.

Soccernet.ng rates the performances of the stars that did the business for Nigeria.

Chiamaka Nnadozie 6/10: The Paris Women star had a decent performance performance for Nigeria. She conceded an early goal, but she was solid for the rest of the game.

Tosin Demehin 6.5/10: Demehin had a decent game for the Super Falcons. She looked shaky at the start when Cape Verde were pushing to score, but she eventually settled in.

Akudo Ogbonna 6.4/10: she had a decent game for Nigeria. Unlike the first leg, she was shaky and did not do much in the attack.

Rofiat Imuran 6.5/10: Imuran had a good game for Nigeria. She was quite rugged in the defence, but she made a few bad decisions. Still, it was a decent game overall.

Osinachi Ohale 6.5/10: Ohale was cold as ice as usual. She used her experience to marshall the other defenders. She had a few shaky occasions, but it was a decent game overall.

Peace Efih 6/10: Efi was decent, but she could have been better. She failed to stamp her authority in the midfield and allowed Cape Verde to control the game.

Rasheedat Ajibade 7.5/10: With Oshoala out of the qualifiers, Ajibade has made her presence felt, and she was unsung again. She was a constant threat in attack and gave the Cape Verde women a tough time.

Toni Payne 6.8/10: Payne had a good game, but she did not reach the levels she reached in the first leg. Nonetheless, she was always pragmatic whenever she got the ball, and that helped Nigeria a lot.

Deborah Abiodun 7/10: Abiodun was her usual workaholic self. She covered every blade of grass, but she struggled at the beginning. Still, she had a good game.

Uchenna Kanu 6.3/10: Kanu was decent, but she could have been better. Her ball usage was appalling at times, and she did not connect properly with Monday.

Gift Monday 6.3/10: Monday had a decent performance. However, she was wasteful at times. Her pace was problematic for the Cape Verde side, but she didn’t exploit it enough.

Esther Okoronkwo 7.8/10: Once again, Okoronkwo was a breath of fresh air to the team. She was very pragmatic and offered a serious attacking threat. She had a great game for Nigeria.
