Nigeria-eligible forward, Samu Omorodion, showcased his scoring prowess for Deportivo Alaves during their La Liga encounter against Barcelona, Soccernet.ng reports.

In the Sunday evening fixture at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the 19-year-old striker, on loan from Atletico Madrid, played a key role in Alaves’ performance in the 2-1 loss to the Catalan giants.

Just 18 seconds into the game, the Super Eagles-eligible forward received a pass from Javi Lopez and calmly slotted the ball past Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, giving Alaves an early lead.

This achievement places Omorodion as the second player to score against Barcelona in the fastest time in a home league match in the 21st century. Bryan Zaragoza holds the record with a goal scored after 17 seconds for Granada.

The Nigeria-eligible striker, who has represented Spain at the U-19 and U-21 levels, is eligible to play for the Super Eagles, Olympic Eagles, and the Flying Eagles.

As he looks forward to Alaves’ clash with Granada CF after the international break, Omorodion aims to build on his impressive start.
