The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured their third Africa Cup of Nations title in 2013, and yet to to win another since then
Former Chelsea star, Mikel Obi, has heaped praise on Spartak Moscow forward Victor Moses, calling him the best player he ever played with at the national level, Soccernet.ng reports.
Mikel fondly recalled the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament where Moses delivered an outstanding performance that significantly contributed to the Super Eagles’ victory in the competition.
Moses, who was signed by Chelsea from Wigan Athletic, showcased his speed and shooting abilities during the AFCON tournament.
The ex-Chelsea forward, who joined Liverpool on loan that same period, scored two goals and provided the crucial assist for Sunday Mba’s goal that secured the victory for Stephen Keshi’s team.
Speaking to Cafonline, Mikel identified Moses as the player he most enjoyed playing with, particularly highlighting his immense impact during Nigeria’s third AFCON trophy win.
“And the player that I played with, you know, I played with lots of great players. But then it will come down to when we actually won the tournament and one player that I really enjoyed his impact on the team then.
“Actually [it] was massive, was Victor Moses. Victor was really on his game when we won the Nations Cup. He played a massive role which helped us to win the tournament.” he said.
