EFL: Leicester City boss rules out Super Eagles star for QPR clash

Super Eagles duo, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho have been in fine form for Leicester City this season, winning all but one game.

Versatile Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, will be out of Leicester City’s clash against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old Nigerian midfielder has found himself rejuvenated under Italian manager, Enzo Maresca, and has featured in all of The Foxes’ games this season, featuring in a more advanced role.

During the International Break, the former Genk man featured in Nigeria’s game against Saudi Arabia but didn’t feature for Leicester in their 1-0 win against Swansea last week.

Leicester boss, Maresca, has cleared the air on why the Nigerian missed the game at the Swansea.com Stadium, also highlighting that the midfielder will be absent from their clash away to Queens Park Rangers.

The 43-year-old boss highlighted that a muscular injury will keep Ndidi from travelling to the Loftus Road Stadium. The manager mentioned that the physio team thought the Super Eagles midfielder was fatigued at first.

“That looks a bit more than tiredness as we thought at the beginning, so he probably has to stay out some days or weeks. It’s not an important problem, just a muscular problem that we thought was not important. It’s not big, but I think at least for some days or weeks he going to be out,” the former Parma manager told the club’s official website.

The Italian added that the midfielder will be reintegrated into the squad slowly when he eventually returns from injury.

Since he took over the reins at the King Power Stadium, Maresca has heralded Leicester to the top spot in the Championships, with sights set on a return to the English top-flight.
