Sao Tome and Principe captain vows to defeat Super Eagles in Uyo

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are scheduled to tackle São Tomé and Principe on Sunday for the final tie of their Africa Cup of Nations qualification tie

Captain of Sao Tome and Principe’s national football team, Luis Leal, has confidently stated that his team is determined to secure victory against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Falcons were spotted arriving in Nigeria yesterday to tackle the 2013 AFCON champion in their final AFCON qualification match slated for Sunday.

Despite already being eliminated from contention for a spot in the 2023 AFCON, the True Patriots are approaching the match with pride despite their last encounter with the Super Eagles in the qualifiers resulting in a 10-0 defeat.

Sao Tome and Principe have faced a challenging qualifying campaign, conceding 20 goals while managing to score just three in five games.

Despite these statistics, Leal remains undeterred in his belief that his team will achieve a different outcome this time.

“We are here to thrash and humiliate the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo,” Leal boldly declared, as quoted by Daily Posts.

The tie between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and São Tomé is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and will kick off at 5 pm.
