Iwobi just joined Fulham on transfer deadline day, and he would be looking to make an impact
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi is back in training and should be available for Fulham in their game against Luton Town on Saturday, Soccernet reports.
Iwobi joined Fulham from Everton on the last day of the summer transfer window in a transfer worth €25.7million. The 27-year-old midfielder sustained a hamstring injury while at Everton, but the Cottagers went ahead with the deal.
Because of his injury, Iwobi missed Fulham’s 5-1 loss to Manchester City. A game that could have been his first for the club.
The former Arsenal man has been recuperating, and the international break came in handy as he has had ample time to adjust to the new environment and return to full fitness.
Iwobi returned to training at Fulham on Tuesday, and that puts him in contention for a place in Marco Silva’s lineup when they play Luton Town.
The Nigerian has to be at his best if he wants to have a consistent place at Fulham. Coach Silva already has players like Andreas Pereira and Tom Carney in midfield. As such, Iwobi would have to fight hard to be in the starting lineup.
