The Brazilian star was essential for the Toffees when he was at Goodison Park, scoring 53 goals and dishing out 14 assists in 152 games
Brazilian star, Richarlison de Andrade, known mononymously as Richarlison, urged Alex Iwobi, a former colleague, as Everton split the win with Leicester City, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Toffees went to the King Power stadium on Monday night hoping to win all three points, but the game ended in an exciting 2-2 draw.
The Brazilian, who moved to join Tottenham Hotspur from Everton last summer, reacted to a post by the Nigerian and encouraged him to keep going.
The Super Eagles attacker once again was instrumental in Everton’s fight against relegation during their trip to the East Midlands, as his equaliser allowed Sean Dyche’s team to share the win.
The opening goal of the game was scored from the penalty spot by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who had gone nine games without scoring.
After Sean Dyche’s team failed to clear a set piece, Caglar Soyuncu equalised the score for the King Power outfit with a half-volley.
Alex Iwobi’s lone goal for the Toffees in the second half helped them earn a point after Jamie Vardy’s well-known goal gave Dean Smith’s team the lead in the first half.
Iwobi employed his social media platform to encourage the team after having an impact. “Errors [were] made, but the support stayed, [I] appreciate the love. We go again,” he wrote.
Richarlison responded to the post by writing, “Fighting every game and keep going.”
Next Monday, Everton will travel to Falmer Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion, and the following week, they will host Manchester City at Goodison Park Stadium.
