Osimhen has missed Napoli’s last three games and the results were unconvincing
Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has revealed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be fully fit and available for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash against AC Milan next week.
Soccernet.ng reported earlier that Osimhen sustained an injury while on international duty with Nigeria in March. Since then, he has not played for the Partenopeans. He has missed their last three games.
In his absence, Napoli lost 4-0 to AC Milan in the Serie A, but they bounced back with a laboured 2-1 win over Lecce. However, they lost 1-0 to AC Milan in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie.
Osimhen has clearly been missed, and his deputies Giovanni Simeone and Giacomo Raspadori have not stepped up to the plate.
Soccernet reported earlier that Osimhen could play in the second leg of Napoli’s UCL clash against AC Milan at the Diego Maradona stadium on the 18th of April.
Spalletti has now confirmed that the 24-year-old striker will play the second leg.
“Victor Osimhen will 100 percent be available for the return leg at Maradona on Tuesday. He will be there,” the Italian coach said per Fabrizio Romano.
The Partenopeans play Hellas Verona this weekend, and it is expected that Osimhen would get a run-in.
Napoli fans would be hoping that their talisman returns with a bang and help them overturn the one-goal deficit from the first leg.
