Moffi has been outstanding this season, and he continued with that from at Nantes
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi got a goal and an assist for Nice, but his efforts were not enough as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Nantes.
Nice were looking to continue their ten-game unbeaten run when they traveled to Nantes. It was a battle of two Nigerian forwards, as while Moffi was in Nantes’ colours, Moses Simon started for Nantes.
However, it was Moffi that shone more. The Super Eagles star displayed his deadly nature in the box, and he reacted first to a corner and sent a strong header into the net to make it 1-0 to Nice.
But the lead did not last, as Moussa Sissoko equalized for Nantes in the 31st minute. Simon was supposed to be the livewire for Nantes, but he did not offer much in attack.
It ended 1-1 at halftime. Nice started the second half well, but they had to wait till the 71st minute before they got their goal. And Moffi had a hand in it again.
The former Lorient man sent the ball to Ndayishimiye, who was alert to strike a strong shot to make it 2-1 for his side.
It looked like Nice were cruising to the win until the 88th minute, when Mostafa Mohamed equalized to ensure that game ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
The win puts Nice four points away from the European spots. For Nantes, they look safe with eight points above relegation waters.
