Champions League: Sad Night for Sanusi, as Inter Milan send Porto packing

The Dragon lost the first leg in Milan, but they were unable to make up for their loss at the Estadio Dragao

Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi played 84 minutes, but his efforts were not enough as Inter Milan knocked Porto out of the UEFA Champions League with a 1-0 aggregate win.

After suffering a fortuitous 1-0 loss to Inter Milan in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League tie, Porto were looking to overturn the deficit at Estadio Dragao.

Nigeria right-back Sanusi played all 90 minutes in the first leg, and Porto boss Sergio Conceicao kept the faith with him in the second leg.

Porto bossed the possession, but they were unable to do anything tangible with it. Sanusi was very good. He held his defensive lines properly and supported the attack.

The second half proceeded in almost the same fashion as the first. Porto piled the pressure, as they needed just one goal to force extra time.

Sanusi had a decent game. He registered 44 passes, four crosses, and three interceptions. However, he was unable to help his side get the all-important goal.

The tie ended goalless, and it ensures that Inter Milan progressed to the quarterfinal at the expense of Porto.
