Austin Jay-Jay Okocha asserts Victor Osimhen is worthy of all the plaudits

The Super Eagles forward has registered 25 goals and provided 5 assists in all competitions for the Gli Azzurri this season

Super Eagles Icon, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has claimed that Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, is deserving of all the praise he is getting.

The 49-year-old admits that the Super Eagles talisman is enjoying an outstanding season with Luciano Spalletti’s team, making him deserving of the plaudits he is receiving.

The attacker for Napoli has been on fire for the Neapolitans, scoring 21 goals in 23 Serie A league matches.

The Nigerian became the first player to reach 20 goals in the Italian league with his recent double for the Parthenopeans in their 4-nil win against Torino.

Nonetheless, the former player for Paris Saint-Germain feels that the 24-year-old deserves the plaudits he is receiving and that his potential is infinite if he keeps up his current form.

“I think he has done well, he is having a great season, and he deserves all the praise he is getting. But, I think the ultimate for him is to play in the [English] Premier League, which he has made clear as well. So, following his progress, I feel what he can achieve is limitless based on the continuity of his hard work.” he said, as quoted by BBC.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to play Guinea-Bissau in a doubleheader encounter for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and it is expected that the Nigerian striker will maintain his stellar play for the team.
