Report: Makinwa, Brazilian tactician jostle for El Kanemi job

El Kanemi are currently without a manager, and they are looking to fill that void as soon as possible

Former Vandrezzer boss Henry Makinwa and Brazilian tactician Rafael Everton are interested in taking the El Kanemi managerial job.

The Borno Army sacked former coach Abubakar Hassan Mai Zubairu on Thursday, after a poor run of results that has left them bottom of Group A of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

They have picked just five points from a possible 27 this season. And they desperately need to start winning games if they want to stay afloat.

According to Daily Post, two tacticians have shown interest in filling the void in Maiduguri – former Vandrezzer coach Makinwa and former Akwa United gaffer Everton have shown interest in the job.

Although a Brazilian, Everton, has been on the Nigerian scene for the last six years, coaching Ifeanyi Ubah, Abia Warriors, Akwa United, and Vandrezzer FC.

El Kanemi would have to appoint a new manager soon as possible if they want to stay afloat.
