“Even better to win”– Super Eagles forward reacts as Everton stun League-leading Arsenal

Everton earned their first victory in 11 games across all competition against English Premier League leaders, Arsenal.

Nigerian International, Alex Iwobi, provided a post-game remark following Everton’s triumph against Arsenal.

The Toffees battled Arteta’s men and upset them 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park Stadium.

The Nigerian winger welcomed his old team to Merseyside, as Sean Dyche marked his return to the English top division with a stunning performance from his team.

The 25-year-old was in the starting eleven as James Tarkowski’s decisive header off of Dwight McNeil’s cross gave the Blues their first victory in 11 games across all competitions.

For many stretches, Arsenal was outmatched and lacked any momentum, but Leandro Trossard, who joined in January, forced Jordan Pickford to make a quick save late on.

The gunners’ inability to convert their few chances to goals had their title race dragged back a bit by the EPL bottom team.

Iwobi, who was delighted to see his old colleagues again after Dyche’s squad put on a strong performance, applauded the victory more than he did the reunion.

“ Nice To See Some Old Faces, Even Better To Win!” Iwobi wrote.

Following their fourth victory in 21 games, Everton shares a point with Leeds, who are a point above the relegation zone.

However, when they visit their neighbours, Liverpool, at the Anfield Stadium on Monday, the blues will be aiming for against a formidable foe.
