“We want to win”- Osimhen makes statement of intent ahead of Napoli – Inter Milan clash

The Partenopeans have enjoyed a blistering start to the season, and Osimhen is ready to take it a notch higher

Super Eagles Striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that Napoli will be at their best when they take on Inter Milan in their first game of 2023.

Napoli have enjoyed a terrific start to the Serie A season, picking 41 points from 15 games. The Partenopeans are also the only team alongside PSG that are yet to suffer defeat in Europe’s top five leagues.

Considering their blistering start to the season, the Partenopeans are favourites to claim the Scudetto. They sit atop the League,  eight points above second-placed AC Milan.

However, the title is still far from sealed. Napoli return to Serie A action on the 4th of January 2023. They have a difficult tie against former Champions Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza, and a loss could put them in a bad place.

Ahead of the game, Nigerian hitman Osimhen is upbeat and focused. He insists that Napoli are not going to let down their guard against the Nerazzurri.

“We can’t wait to play against Inter Milan,” Osimhen said as per Napoli Magazine.

“None of us think that these 8 points ahead of the second give guarantees for the future. The championship is very long and we know that we must never give up to keep first place.

“It’s just this. We have to continue as we have done throughout the season. We have to work hard, as if we weren’t ahead of everyone in the standings, without thinking about who can’t wait for our defeat.

“Inter represent a great face-to-face, we want to win but it won’t be easy”.

Napoli have failed to defeat Inter Milan in their last five meetings. But with the quality that they have shown this season, the Partenopeans can claim one against their rivals.
