The potential Super Eagles player has performed well for Boro under his new head coach.
Super Eagles hopeful, Chuba Akpom, has been named the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month for November.
The former Arsenal player scored three times in a row against Hull City, Bristol City, and Blackpool during a stellar month for him in front of goal.
In 15 games in the domestic league this season, the 27-year-old has scored nine goals.
However, as it was previously reported, the right-footed attacker has won the admiration of many sports observers, like Jamie Mackie, who praised his performance by saying:
“Well it helps massively to have a striker in form – another man with nine league goals this season, he’s raking them in, he’s well up there.”
In the 92nd minute of Norwich City’s game last month, Matt Crooks scored the game-winning goal after a brilliant pass into the path of The Nigerian, who then laid the ball across the six-yard box for Crooks to smash home.
Michael Carrick’s team struggled in December, however, as Luton’s Jordan Clark scored a remarkable goal from almost inside his own half, nutmegged Johnny Howson, and then blasted a 20-yard shot past Zack Steffen to give the visitors the lead.
However, after only five minutes, Akpom equalized the score after rising above Amari’i Bell to meet Ryan Giles’ cross and scoring his ninth goal of the season.
The Super Eagles target, whose parents are from Nigeria but was born in London, has been in fantastic form under his new manager, Carrick, netting nine goals in 15 match appearances.
