Super Eagles captain promises quality football against Sao Tome and Principe, shades National Stadium

The Super Eagles struggled to play quality football at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, but Musa is confident of a change in Morocco

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has promised that Nigeria would play quality and entertaining football when they square off against Sao Tome and Principe in their second match of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigeria won their opening fixture of the Qualifiers with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone at the Moshood Abiola Stadium. However, the quality of play was not quite impressive. The pitch did not help matters as it looked far from what a football pitch should look like.

The Super Eagles will file out for their second game against Sao Tome and Principe on Monday. However, this time, they would play on a quality surface at the Stade Adrar in Agadir, Morocco, one of the top stadiums on the continent.

Musa believes that with a quality playing surface, Nigeria would offer something better.

“We want to win against Sao Tome and Principe”, Musa said at the pre-match presser as per Victor Modo.

“But definitely we have to play good football like the coach always wants. And as you can see, we have a very good pitch here(Agadir), so you will see a very different Super Eagles tomorrow”

Nigeria are massive favorites going into the tie, and they would look to claim their second victory against a Sao Tome and Principe side that conceded five against Guinea Bissau.
