‘Lampard is turning Iwobi to Modric’- Everton fans wax lyrical over Iwobi after Manchester United defeat

The Super Eagles star has been a consistent performer for the toffees in recent weeks

Everton fans have taken to social media to praise Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for his performance in the toffees’ hard-fought 1-0 victory against Manchester United.

The Toffees continued their struggle to avoid relegation when they welcomed United to Goodison Park.

Both sides were hardly convincing, especially in the attack. However, a moment of brilliance form Anthony Gordon, whose shot deflected off Harry Maguire and crept into the post, was all Everton needed to clinch the victory.

The Red Devils controlled the game but struggled to create anything solid in the attack.

Iwobi was brilliant in the game, he was involved in the build-up to Everton’s goal, and he helped in defense. The Nigeria international had two interceptions, one tackle, and one clearance.

The Super Eagles star has been consistent for Everton recently. The last time Everton won a game, Iwobi who scored the crucial goal against Newcastle.

Following his performance, Everton fans took to social media to shower praises on the 25-year-old.
