“Rest on Justice” – Former Real Sociedad star mourns late Super Eagles midfielder Christopher

The football space woke up, on Wednesday, to the sad news of the demise of the former Nigerian international

Ex-Real Sociedad ace Mutiu Adepoju has reacted to the saddening report of the death of former Super Eagles midfielder Justice Christopher.

As reported by Soccernet earlier via Andrew Randa, Justice Christopher died today, Wednesday, in Jos, aged just 40.

A former Nigerian international, Christopher earned 11 caps for the three-time African champions.

The former Katsina United and Sharks FC star made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2001 and was a vital member of the Nigerian squad to the 2002 FIFA World Cup hosted by South Korea and Japan.

1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner Adepoju, who played his last game for Nigeria also in 2002, has mourned the loss of the Jos-born central midfielder.

“May your departed soul rest in peace, and may God give your family strength to handle this painful loss. Rest on Justice,” the ex-Racing Santander star wrote on his Twitter page.

The first European club Christopher joined after leaving Bendel Insurance in 2001 was Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

He would later play for Bulgaria’s Levski Sofia, Sweden’s Trelleborg, Russia’s Alania Vladikavkaz, and Denmark’s Herfølge Boldklub before calling time on his football career in 2007.
