Nigeria could be faced with a terrible pitch in Ghana

The two African heavyweights square off later this month, but the Ghanaians are not fully prepared

The Ghana Sports Authority (NSA) are in a race against time to ensure that the Cape Coast Stadium is good enough for use ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Nigeria on the 25th of March.

The two African heavyweights square off against each other later this month, but the Ghanaians have suffered a significant setback after the Cape Coast Stadium, which they are supposed to host Nigeria in, was left in a sorry state after an Independence Day parade last Sunday.

According to Ghanasoccernet, the pitch was left in a sorry state, as it has lost its lushness, while other facilities have suffered some degree of damage.

However, the Ghanaians are using all of their resources to ensure that they make all corrections before they clash in two weeks.

Earlier, there were reports that the Ghana Sports Authority wanted to move the game to Kumasi or Accra to prevent the current situation because the Cape Coast stadium had already been set for the Independence day parade.

Unfortunately, their request was rejected as both stadiums failed CAF’s evaluation.

The 20000 sitter Stadium has played host to Ghana’s home games in the World Cup qualifiers.
