The Nigerian international was a delight to watch on Saturday evening as he terrorised the Parisians on the road to a stunning home win
Nantes winger Moses Simon has set a new assist-landmark after providing the opening goal in his side’s 3-1 victory over Paris St-Germain yesterday.
The Super Eagles ace assisted Nantes’ first strike after just four minutes when he made a storming run down the left wing before squaring for Randal Kolo Muani to stab the ball into the net.
By supplying that crucial final ball, Moses delivered his 7th assist of the French Ligue 1 season. And according to Opta (as per Nantes), no other Yellow Canary has supplied more assists in a single league campaign since the performance-measuring site started analysing the competition in 2006/07.
PSG are becoming Moses’ favourite customer, with the Nigerian scoring in a 2-1 triumph away to the former champions last season. FC Nantes have now won two of their last three matches against Paris in Ligue 1, losing the other.
The 26-year-old forward has taken to his Twitter account to react to Saturday’s fantastic victory over a side that boasts three of the world’s best attackers in Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar.
Appreciating the contribution of his teammates, Simon wrote on Twitter (translated from French): “Great teamwork tonight!!”
Aside from his numerous assists, Simon has three league goals to his name, the latest of which was a stunning free-kick that secured all three points for Nantes last weekend against Reims.
Simon, last term, managed six goals and six assists in 35 league appearances – including the relegation playoffs – for the Yellow Canaries.
