Inter Milan send message to Victor Osimhen following nasty injury

The Nigerian forward suffered a terrible cheekbone fracture in the matchday 13 clash between the Nerazzurri club and Il Partenopei

Italian giants Inter Milan have sent a get-well-soon message to Victor Osimhen after the Napoli striker picked up a severe injury during the two clubs’ Serie A clash at the weekend.

Internazionale defeated Napoli 3-2 at the San Siro on Sunday to hand the visitors their first league loss of the season.

Osimhen did not finish that game, though, as he was hauled off minutes into the second half after injuring his cheekbone.

The Nigerian striker came off the worse following a clash of heads with Inter defender Milan Škriniar. It has been confirmed that Osimhen had multiple fractures in his cheekbone and will undergo surgery in a few days.

Inter Milan have shown their sympathy to the 22-year-old, sending him an encouraging message on social media.

“Come on champion, we look forward to seeing you on the pitch!” the reigning Serie A champions wrote on Twitter.

Osimhen’s injury could reportedly see him sidelined for a few weeks, putting doubt on his participation at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nationa tournament in January.

The former Lille forward is Nigeria’s leading goalscorer during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with four goals.
