The 22-year-old’s focus turns to club football this weekend after he helped Nigeria reach the playoff round of the CAF World Cup qualifying section
All eyes will be on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as Napoli travel to the San Siro Stadium to take on Inter Milan in this weekend’s biggest clash in the Italian Serie A.
Napoli will hope Osimhen will bring his form from the just-concluded international break into the clash. The Nigerian international scored in the Super Eagles games against Liberia and Cape Verde to fire the three-time African champions into the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifier, African section.
The Super Eagles star has started the season in brilliant fashion for the Neapolitans and will hope to continue in the same vein at the San Siro on Sunday evening.
The match will see Serie A’s most valuable strikers come up against each other, with Osimhen representing Napoli and Lautaro Martinez flying Inter’s hopes.
According to Transfermarkt, Martinez is Serie A’s most valuable player with a market value of 77m Euros, while Osimhen is the sixth most valuable player with a market value of 60m euros.
Both players have an identical record in the league this season. Osimhen has scored five goals for Napoli, the same number Martinez has scored for the Nerazzurri.
However, all of Osimhen’s goals have been from open play, in contrast to Martinez, who has scored one of his five goals from the penalty spot.
Martinez has one assist to his name though, compared to Osimhen, who is yet to set up any of his teammates this season. However, he has won two penalties for Napoli this season.
The match itself is a battle between the unbeaten league leaders and the defending champions. Luciano Spalletti currently lead the table with 32 points from 12 games, seven ahead of Inter.
For Inter, the mission is clear, they will be hoping to end Napoli’s unbeaten start. Meanwhile, the side from Naples will hope to pull further away from their rivals with a win on Sunday.

The problem with Rohr is he is a kind man. He is not a tactician and does not how to use and motivate his players. Just like Bonfere Jo said he has good players but doesn’t know how to use what he has at hand. And I don’t believe his coaching crew are helping matters.
If they decide to replace him now with an indigenous coach. I will recommend Emmanuel Amuneke. I think he work well with the players and have their respect
