Official: Chelsea’s Anglo-Nigerian star leaves club on a loan deal

The transfer window may be shut, but the Blues are still conducting deals after revealing that one of their highly-rated youngsters has left the club on a loan deal

Chelsea’s English youngster of Nigerian descent, Faustino Adebola Rasheed Anjorin, has left the club to join Lokomotiv Moscow on a season-long loan deal.

The Blues confirmed the deal in a statement on their website, which read: Tino Anjorin, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder who made three men’s first-team appearances last season, is embarking on his first loan, with Lokomotiv Moscow his destination.

Anjorin has been with Chelsea since he was seven and signed a five-year deal at the club last year. Although he is highly rated, the Blues believe it’s better for the 19-year-old to leave on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.

The youngster will now get the chance to play more at Lokomotiv Moscow, who finished third in the Russian top-flight last season.

Also, he will get to play in Europe this season as Lokomotiv are competing in the Europa League, where they’ve been drawn against Olympique Marseille, Lazio and Galatasaray.

The 19-year-old was born in England and has represented the Three Lions at youth level. However, he is still eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.
