Carabao Cup: Iheanacho, Lookman combine to send Leicester into the fourth round

The two Nigerians were the heroes for Brendan Rodgers men as they sealed their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup following a win over Millwall

Ademola Lookman scored his first goal for Leicester City, while Kelechi Iheanacho scored a superb strike as Leicester City progressed to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 win over Millwall.

Leicester City went into the game following a 2-1 loss at Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday. However, they were dominant from start to finish, commanding 71% ball possession.

But they had to wait until the 50th minute before they found the breakthrough. The Foxes opened the scoring through Ademola Lookman, who slotted in Iheanacho’s deflected shot for his first goal since joining on loan from RB Leipzig.

It looked like it would be the only goal of the game until Iheanacho fired in a fantastic strike two minutes from time to seal a comfortable win for the away side.

A goal similar to his strike against Crystal Palace last season, Iheanacho beat a defender by cutting into his right to fire an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

It’s his second goal of the season, having scored the winner in the Community Shield victory over Manchester City.
