It was more of good tales for Nigerian Players on Sunday. Many of them were on duty for their clubs, and whilst some of them played minor roles in their team’s success, many others were pivotal to their teams’ achievements,
Forward, Tosin Kehinde was crucial for Randers as they went away to secure a victory at Aarhus. The Nigerian scored in the 27th minute to give his Danish side the lead going into half-time.
An early second-half equaliser from Dawid Kurminowski wasn’t enough to dent the belief of Randers as Mathias Grevewho who assisted Tosin’s goal, scored in the 55th minute to give Randers the vital three points.
The win took Randers to the summit of the Danish League.
In the Czech Republic’s top division, Yira Sor scored the second goal in Ostrava’s 5-1 triumph over Zlin. The 21-year-old scored after David Lischka gave his side the lead.
Three other goals from Lischka, Almasi and Buchta made sure that Ostrava claimed their first three points of the season.
In Sweden, Akinkunmi Amoo came on as a second-half substitute in Hammarby’s draw at Ostersunds.
A goal from Patrick Kpozo in the 38th minute gave Ostersunds the lead heading into half-time. Amoo came on for Hammarby in the 59th minute to see if he could salvage something for his side, but he could only get a yellow card in the 65th minute.
However, Selmani scored in the 68th minute for Hammarby to ensure they shared the spoils with Ostersunds.
In Croatia, former Rivers United striker Emem Eduok scored the solitary goal in Hadjuk Split’s win against Sibenik. Eduok scored in the 27th minute to help his side to the three points, although he went off at half-time.
In the Russian Premier League, Brian Idowu kept a clean sheet as his Khimki claimed a major win at Krasnodar.
The Super Eagles fullback was used as a right wingback, and he put in a good shift as he kept it water-tight at his side of the pitch.
A 63rd-minute goal from Ilia Kukharchuk was enough to see Khimki claim their first 3 points of the season.
