Nigeria-eligible midfielder set to leave Arsenal for League One Club

Nigeria-eligible midfielder Miguel Azeez is set to complete a move to Portsmouth. The move is subject to a medical, which will be held today.

According to reports from Football Insider, the 18-year-old will join Pompey on a loan deal that will expire at the end of the season.

Azeez has been linked with a move away from Arsenal all summer, with League One clubs in the hunt for his services, especially after his pre-season stunner against Watford.

Portsmouth have now won the race to sign him as they’ve been able to agree a deal with Arsenal.  Azeez has played for the youth team of Arsenal in the last two seasons, but he made his debut for the Gunners last season in a Europa League game against Dundalk.

The Central midfielder is known for his ability to hold the ball and his adept passing ability. Azeez was born in England to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother, and as such, he can represent one of the three countries.
