Iheanacho reacts after scoring the winner against former club Manchester City

The Super Eagles attacker came off the bench to help the Foxes secure a shock win over their illustrious opponents in the season’s curtain-raiser

Kelechi Iheanacho has reacted after helping Leicester City win the Community Shield at the expense of Manchester City.

Iheanacho came off the bench to score the only goal as last season’s FA Cup winners beat the Premier League Champions in the season’s curtain-raiser at Wembley.

The 24-year-old fired home from the penalty spot in the 89th minute after Nathan Ake had fouled him in the box.

His goal ensured Leicester won the first silverware of the season, and following the game, Ihenacho took to his social media accounts to give thanks to God.

“All glory to God, Iheanacho said in a post on his Twitter and Instagram pages.

Iheanacho was also congratulated by some of his international teammates and Nigeria’s celebrities following the victory.

The former Manchester City man went on a brilliant goalscoring run in the second half of last season, and he has picked up from where he left.

Next up for Iheanacho and his Leicester teammates is their Premier League opener against Wolves at the King Power Stadium next Saturday.
