The 2020/2021 season finished last month, but with the transfer window opening officially on July 1st, teams have drawn out their targets ahead of next season
Several clubs are interested in Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem, the player’s agent, Graham Heydorn, has confirmed.
According to yenisafak, Heydorn revealed Awaziem is a transfer target for many teams, including Turkish champions Besiktas.
Awaziem spent last season on loan with Boavista from FC Porto with an option to buy. The Nigerian international impressed, making 27 league appearances and leading the team out on a couple of occasions.
The Panthers took up the buy option at the end of the campaign, paying 5m euros (₦2.4b) for his services.
But with the club currently cash-strapped, Awaziem is back on the market again, and he is available for the same 5m euros.
Besiktas have already signified their interest as they try to defend their league title and have a crack at the Champions League.
However, Awaziem’s agent Heydorn insists many other clubs are hoping to sign the Super Eagles star.
“Besiktas is one of the interested teams, but there are other teams that want it,” he said as per yenisafak.
Nonetheless, his future remains unclear as nothing is decided yet.
