The Nigerian winger played for 83 minutes as Les Canaries retained their status in the French top-flight after edging out Toulouse on away goals rule
Moses Simon was in action as Nantes secured their place in the Ligue 1 despite losing at home to Toulouse on Sunday night.
Nantes were involved in a relegation playoff with Toulouse after finishing 18th in the just concluded Ligue 1 season.
Toulouse had won the promotion playoff in Ligue 2 but had to play Nantes in another two-legged playoff for a place in Ligue 1.
The first leg took place on Wednesday at the Stadium TFC, with Nantes sealing a vital 2-1 away win. Les Canaries then welcomed Patrice Garande’s to the Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday, with Simon starting for the home side.
The 25-year-old was one of the best players on the night with two key passes and 88% pass accuracy. He also made three successful tackles while he won five duels.
But it was Toulouse that emerged victorious on the night as a Vakoun Issouf Bayo strike in the 62nd minute set up a nervy finish.
However, Nantes prevented the away side from scoring another goal, which was all Toulouse needed to earn a promotion.
It meant that Les Canaries denied Toulouse promotion on away goals rule, having won 2-1 in the first leg.
