The Super Eagles star gave a solid performance at the back to help the Hornets edge closer towards a return the English top-flight
William Troost-Ekong was named the man of the match after he helped Watford to a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in their Skybet Championship clash at Vicarage Road on Friday.
Ekong was rock-solid at the back as Watford kept a clean sheet to move just within six points off Norwich City in the first spot.
The Nigerian international had a 90% pass accuracy, while he also delivered seven successful long balls. He also won two of the five duels he faced and made one clearance.
It was Ekong’s 27th league appearance of the season. The 27-year-old joined the Hornets from Udinese to achieve his dream of playing in the English Premier League.
And he’s well on course to achieve that as Watford are in the second spot with 78 points, nine points ahead of Swansea- although the Swans have a game in hand.
Next up for Ekong and Watford is a trip to Middlesbrough on Easter Monday.
