Jose Mourinho Fired As Tottenham’s Manager

The Portuguese tactician has been dismissed as Spurs manager after spending just one year and five months in the role

Jose Mourinho has been sacked as Tottenham manager after just seventeen months in the job. The 58-year-old was appointed as Spurs manager in November 2019, replacing Mauricio Pochettino.

However, his appointment has not brought the desired result. Spurs currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, five points off the fifth place with six games to go.

The Lilywhites also suffered an embarrassing exit in the Europa League round of 16, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Dinamo Zagreb.

Mourinho’s sacking comes after Spurs and other 11 major clubs in Europe announced the creation of a new European Super League.

But despite their woeful season, Spurs can still end up with a trophy as they take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Ryan Mason and Chris Powell are expected to be in charge of that clash and the remaining games of the season.
