Two Super Eagles Stars Make Primeira Liga Team Of The Week

The Portuguese Primeira Liga have released their team of the week following last weekend, and two Nigerian players feature in the defence

Super Eagles stars, Zaidu Sanusi and Chidozie Awaziem, have been included in the Liga Nos team of the week following their impressive performance for their respective clubs last weekend.

Both players changed clubs in the summer with Sanusi joining Porto from Santa Clara while Awaziem left the Portuguese champions to join Boavista.

They’ve both made a brilliant start at their new clubs and last weekend was no different. Sanusi scored his second goal for Porto in the thrilling win over Tondela while Awaziem was part of the Boavista defence that kept a clean sheet at Rio Ave.

As a result, both players were included in the team of the week with Sanusi occupying the left-back role. At the same time, Awaziem partnered former Liverpool defender, Sebastian Coates in defence.

Sanusi has made 13 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese champions while Awaizem has eight appearances for Boavista.
