Eberechi Eze made his second successive start in the Premier League for Crystal Palace, but it was a bad day for the Eagles as they were torn apart by the Blues.
Chelsea returned to winning ways following a comprehensive win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League clash between the two sides on Saturday afternoon.
Eze was handed his second start in the league after making his full debut in last week’s loss to Everton. But it was another disappointing afternoon for the 22-year-old.
Frank Lampard’s men had been winless in their last two games, drawing against West Brom last weekend after going three goals down in the first half. The Blues also lost via a penalty shootout in their Carabao Cup encounter against Tottenham on Tuesday.
However, they had no such problems against another London rival on Saturday with Ben Chilwell and Kurt Zouma putting the side ahead before two Jorginho penalties secured an emphatic win over Crystal Palace.
Following a goalless first half, Chilwell put Chelsea ahead in the 50th minute before setting up Zouma for the second in the 66th minute.
Two Jorginho penalties after Tammy Abraham and Kai Havertz were fouled in the box ensured it was a comfortable victory for Lampard’s men.
