Talented Anglo-Nigerian youngster Ademola Lookman had a year to forget in the Bundesliga and is looking for a fresh start at the newly-promoted side
According to the British podcast, the Beautiful Game, Fulham are in talks to sign former England youth international Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig as preparations kick into top gear ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League season.
The west London side, who are also interested in bringing Super Eagles defender Ola Aina back to England, are keen on adding Lookman to their squad on a season-long loan deal.
A former Everton starlet, once rated among England’s brightest prospects, Lookman joined Leipzig permanently last summer after impressing on loan during the second half of the 2017/18 season at the German side.
But the best of the 22-year-old was not seen throughout the just-concluded season, featuring in only 13 games in all competitions and not contributing a single goal or assist.
Despite having sold their top attacking star, Timo Werner, to Chelsea, Leipzig are reportedly willing to allow Lookman, one of their remaining forward options, return to his country of birth, England, to regain his confidence.
Still eligible to play for Nigeria and has reportedly kick-started the process of change of international allegiance. Lookman’s return to the Premier League may just be the tonic required to get back to his best form and get his career back on track.
