The Nigeria international has a contract until 2023 with Les Girondins, but he admits that anything can still happen before the transfer window slams shut in October
Super Eagles star Samuel Kalu has revealed that Turkish side Fenerbahce are still keen on signing him from Bordeaux temporarily but with an option to buy.
The exciting winger hints that he is open to moving to Turkey, but he is clear that he won’t force a move away from the French club.
Kalu has mostly been inconsistent since joining Bordeaux from Gent two years ago, but the Nigerian midfielder scored in the 2-1 defeat to Lens over the weekend.
That was his first goal for Les Girondins since netting in a 3-1 victory over Amiens last September.
Bordeaux want to recoup much of the €8.5 million they spent in taking Kalu to France, but Fenerbahce are not willing to cough out that much.
The Turkish giants have offered a loan deal with an option to purchase outrightly at the end of the season, and Bordeaux are believed to be considering the offer.
Kalu, though, is open to whatever decision the club settles for.
“There is really nothing much to say because they (Fenerbahce) first gave an offer of a loan deal, but Bordeaux rejected it, saying I was an important player to the club and they can’t allow me to go on loan again,” Kalu told AOIFootball.
“They came again with another offer for a loan and an option to buy at the end of the season, but the club is yet to reply to them.
“I’m, however, ready to give my best to the club; if I will remain here, I am 100% committed and won’t force a move away as it remains with the club to decide that.”
Kalu, 23, has already featured four times for Bordeaux this term.
