The virus which originated in China has affected over 12 million people worldwide with more than 500,000 casualties
Super Eagles star, Paul Onuachu has contracted the coronavirus following his return to Genk’s pre-season training on Wednesday.
Onuachu only returned to Belgium from Nigeria last week after the 2019/2020 Jupiler League ended early as a result of the pandemic.
The Nigerian international returned late for Genk’s pre-season training due to the travel ban imposed by the Federal Government.
On his return, he was tested along with his teammates for the virus, and only he tested positive. The former Vejle Boldklub striker is now expected to self isolate for 14 days after which he would undergo another test again.
Genk play Eendracht Termien in a pre-season friendly on Thursday, but according to HLN Sport, the players are worried about the latest development.
Onuachu joined The Smurfs from FC Midtjylland last year, and in his debut season, ten times and provided two assists in 29 games.
