The 25-year-old’s future has remained unclear for weeks, but it appears it has been settled according to reports in Belgium
Newly invited Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers, will not be playing his football in the Dutch top-flight next season.
According to nieuwsblad.be, Dessers will leave Heracles this summer after signing a four-year deal with Belgian side, RC Genk.
The Belgian-born Nigerian forward has been attracting interest from a couple of clubs following a brilliant season in the Eredivisie.
Dessers finished as Eredivisie’s joint topscorer with 15 goals and also scored another three in the KNVB Beker, which makes his total goal tally for Heracles 18 in 29 games.
The former Utrecht striker was linked with a move to Italian clubs and Spanish clubs, but they were put off by Heracles five million euros valuation.
It was even reported previously by Soccernet that Genk had pulled out from the deal due to the price tag placed on him.
However, it appears the Belgian side have been able to reach an agreement with the Dutch club, and Dessers will be making a return to his country of birth.
