England Or Nigeria: Ebere Eze Gives An Update On His Future

The QPR star confirmed he has been contacted by officials from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over a possible switch to Nigeria

Ebere Eze has revealed he is yet to decide on his international future but admits it’ll be a privilege to play for either England or Nigeria.

Eze was born in England and has represented the Three Lions at youth level, but he also qualifies to play for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian parents.

The 21-year-old is the subject of war between the two countries, and it’s not a surprise given his performances for the Hoops this season.

Eze is one of the best players in the Championship this season and has been the standout player in what has been an average campaign for QPR.

The former Fulham youth star has scored 12 times and provided eight assists in 37 Championship games for QPR this season.

Speaking in an interview with The Beautiful Game Podcast, Eze revealed he would decide on his international future soon, but did confirm he’s been contacted by NFF officials.

“Yes, of course, when the time comes, I will decide when it is right to do so, I don’t want to make a rash decision”, Eze said.

“It would be an honour to play for either England or Nigeria, it would be a privilege to play for both.”

When asked if the NFF approached him, he said: “Yes, I spoke to them, they understand where I am now, I want to play without any additional pressure. Where my football takes me, it will take me.
